The challenge
Parkly works with innovative companies who share our values and mission. Frey & Frey asked Parkly to transform their headquarters building’s concrete rooftop into a social garden. This creative consultancy company takes sustainability at heart. Parkly was commissioned to develop a solution based on simplicity, modularity and circular economy.
The solution
Parkly believes that shared spaces of all sizes and shapes play a vital role in the change towards more sustainable environments. Adding urban green helps alleviate problems like the heat island effects or the management of runoff waters as well as communicate the importance of urban ecology and resilience.
Our solution is circular by design. We chose renewable, long lasting and high quality wood and metal, designing a smart structure for easy use, flat storage and delivery. Parts can also be changed if needed. Well thought details for comfortable use, quick assembly and easy storage encourage moving away from linear to circular.
Employees globally increasingly aspire for thriving work environments and Parkly is a tool to make it reality. We added greenery and new seating, shaping a more welcoming rooftop space. Working outdoors, meeting with colleagues or just sitting around and relaxing was made possible thanks to the modular setting. It gives access to a shaded and quiet area, visually appealing and with comfortable seating. As well as inspiring creativity, creating green surroundings has a positive impact on our mental and physical wellbeing: as research shows, employees with green window views are more satisfied at work.
