Parkly is integral to the placemaking initiatives envisioning a future, greener, and more social square in Malmi, Helsinki. The modular pocket parks invite citizens to linger, sit, gather, and play. This intervention is a component of a placemaking project conducted by RaivioBumann, focusing on studying place dynamics, emphasizing participation and interaction through various activities.

The chosen locations and functions mirror the future plan for the square, scheduled for realization in 2025-2026. Aligned with the new square plans, the main themes of the intervention revolve around urban nature, a children’s city, and market life.

These green pop-up spaces are commissioned by the City of Helsinki Urban Development Department and form a crucial part of the Suburban Regeneration Programme.
