Across Europe, Parkly is helping cities reclaim space for people, nature, and connection.
Parkly has had a busy spring – supplying urban furniture, supporting project design, and building new partnerships, including an exciting collaboration with BURRI Public Spaces in Switzerland. For both Parkly and BURRI, connecting people and contributing to a vibrant, democratic society is at the heart of our mission.
We were thrilled to kick off this partnership with a project that reflects these shared values: Sonnenplatz Emmen. This community-driven space came to life through local initiative – with residents assembling the modules themselves and celebrating the transformation with a community party. Join the joyful day through this video:
In France, the Ville de Guérande has transformed a former market square parking area into a lively public space filled with greenery, play, and joy. Designed and delivered by our partner Playgones, the project culminated in a celebration with over 500 people – a true testament to the power of placemaking.
In the Netherlands, we’ve partnered with STIPO to bring more life to a campus and work area. With new modular seating, the goal is to foster social interaction and offer relaxing green pockets within the urban environment. After a test phase, findings will guide final placements and potential scaling of the concept.

In our home city Helsinki, the City of Helsinki has launched four summer streets in Kallio district (Kallion kesäkadut) – a flagship initiative creating more liveable, people-friendly places. Parkly was selected as one of the furniture systems supporting the transformation, with vibrant modules now inviting people to sit, play, and linger. The street designs and landscape planning were carried out by Ramboll’s landscape architects.

And there’s more to come:
We’ve kicked off a creative collaboration with parkourists, and the southernmost Parkly installation to date is headed to Malta later this year. Closer to home, the first MOVE parklet will be installed in Espoo in August.
Stay tuned for more updates on how Parkly continues to activate public spaces across Europe and beyond!
